From topics to priorities
Voxil surfaces what communities express. Pairwise helps those same groups decide what to act on first.
Upload your Voxil analysis or open sample data. Navigate the topic tree, validate labels, and identify the issues your group should weigh.
From the Export menu, download leaf nodes as CSV or the full edited tree as JSON. These files are ready to import into Pairwise as voting items.
Create a survey in Pairwise, add your exported topics from a spreadsheet or paste them in, and let your community vote through simple pairwise comparisons.

Export CSV (leaf nodes) or download your edited JSON from Voxil's Export menu, then import those topics into Pairwise. Each leaf topic becomes an issue your community can compare and rank.

Pairwise was cloned and extended from All Our Ideas, the wiki survey platform that put Salganik & Levy's pairwise comparison research into practice. It builds on that demonstration — and the methods in Salganik & Levy (2015) — and has been modernized for the same kinds of deliberative and participatory settings where Voxil is used: groups moving from shared evidence to ranked priorities they can act on together.
Voters see two ideas at a time and pick the one they prefer — no complicated ranking or rating scales.
Participants can submit their own ideas, which get added to the pool for others to vote on.
Uses the Bradley-Terry model to produce statistically sound rankings from pairwise comparisons.
